• Elders Kathy Risley, Pat Terwilliger, Michelle Schiltz and Lu Ann Jamison received communion training led by Rev. Diane Monger. The training was approved by the Committee on Ministry in February. The training will enable any of these elders to serve communion to our congregation without having to have an ordained minister present.
• The session approved a request from Anna Petrik to be appointed as the church librarian. Anna volunteered to serve as a contact person in charge of caring for the books and shelves as well as encouraging the library's use.
• Funeral services were held in our church on January 11th for James Buresh and March 4th for George Berline. Our deepest sympathy goes out to these families.
• Four of our youth along with 2 sponsors and Pastor Bob travelled to Sterling, KS March 20th - 23rd to attend the "Sleepless in Sterling" youth retreat. Students Cecily Jamison, TyAnn York, Sydnee and Kambree York and sponsors Marcie Bristor and Michelle Schiltz reportedly had a great time and are ready to return next year!
• An Ash Wednesday service was held on Feb. 25th to begin the lenten season. Palm Sunday on April 5th will lead us into Holy Week with 2 special services planned.
- Maundy Thursday service will be held on April 9th at 7:00 p.m. Communion will be served. - A lunch-hour Good Friday service is planned for Friday, April 10th. The community will be invited to attend.
• Easter Sunday is April 12th. |
